About Dr. Jake Bartholomy:
Dr. Bartholomy grew up in Alaska and earned a track scholarship to Penn State University. While very careful of preventing injury he did spend some time in the athletic training room and discovered his passion of rehabilitation for athletes. He then attended Slippery Rock University for physical therapy school.
Jake continued his athletic endeavours as he progressed to marathons and ironman triathlons while working full-time in out-patient orthopedics. He ran a 2:36 marathon in Boston and also qualified for the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.
In 2008, his incredible pelvic health coworker nudged him to take the very first Male Pelvic Floor course. He was nervous, but that course gave him a new passion and changed his career trajectory.
Besides helping pelvises with penises, Jake has become passionate about broadening the gender representation in pelvic health therapy to give our diverse patient population a greater breadth of options for care. He has taught physical therapy students, male and colorectal continuing education courses, and has spoken at large international conferences such as the APTA Combined Sections Meeting, and Pelvicon.
Dr. Bartholomy continues to live in Seattle with his husband and two young sons. He still enjoys running, biking, swimming and tennis.
