Pelvic rehabilitation providers can play a crucial role in treatment for people with endometriosis. Techniques such as manual therapy techniques, neuromuscular re-education and behavioral modifications through a comprehensive biopsychosocial approach can be highly effective. It is essential that all pelvic floor physical therapists treat, or know when to refer out for, pelvic pain diagnoses associated with endometriosis through a full body approach, including but not limited to the viscera, nerves, fascia, and musculoskeletal system in the abdomino-pelvic and lumbo-sacro-hip region.
This class will aim to help participants:
- Recognize why pelvic health therapists are integral in the treatment and management of pelvic pain related to endometriosis.
- Verbalize the best practices for pelvic floor therapists providing a neuromusculoskeletal approach for endometriosis.
- Identify the most up-to-date approaches for patient education, behavioral interventions and more for people with endometriosis.
