Do you feel confident supporting your patients with prolapse during pregnancy?

This class will discuss anatomical changes, symptom management, pessaries, and mode of delivery. A biopsychosocial approach will be taken when learning to help facilitate discussion with patients about mode of delivery and expectations. We will cover common questions your pregnant patients may ask you and the evidence based answers to those questions. You will be equipped with exercise prescription suggestions by trimester to better mitigate prolapse related symptoms. 

Join instructor Margo Kwiatkowski PT, DPT, CSCS, PCES for this engaging class aimed at helping pelvic rehab providers feel confident treating patients with existing prolapse during pregnancy. 

Following this class, participants will be able to:

  1. Learn how to help patients manage prolapse related symptoms during pregnancy.
  2. Discuss the risks of subsequent vaginal or cesarean section delivery. 
  3. Feel confident discussing risks and benefits of pessaries in pregnancy.
  4. Understand the anatomical changes that occur during pregnancy and how they affect prolapse. 

About Margo Kwiatkowski PT, DPT, CSCS, PCES

Margo currently practices pelvic, orthopedic and sport physical therapy in Southern California. She earned her DPT from California State University, Northridge. She personally experienced pelvic organ prolapse after the birth of her first child and has since dedicated much of her professional efforts to reviewing the evidence and improving the lives of people with POP. Earlier this year she gave birth to her second child. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, especially playing with her sons outside, gardening, cooking and exercising!
