The presence of a neurological injury or illness can affect function throughout the body, including pelvic health. Additionally, while the majority of therapists with pelvic floor training have a strong background in orthopedics, there is less understanding of how the pelvic floor muscles are affected by neurological conditions.
This course aims to bridge the gap between the outpatient pelvic health therapist and their patients with neurological injury or illness. Topics include differential diagnosis of musculoskeletal and neurogenic symptoms, whole body implications of neurologic compromise on the pelvic floor muscles, treatment considerations and much more.

About Dr. Laura Glazebrook, PT, DPT
Dr. Laura Glazebrook earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of North Georgia and began her career specializing in neurological injuries, with specialized training to evaluate and treat a variety of pelvic health concerns for all genders. She assisted in the development of a groundbreaking bowel and bladder clinic for the Multiple Sclerosis Institute at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta and worked as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team. She has served local physical therapy schools as adjunct professor at Mercer University and Emory University. Dr. Laura is proud to be an active member of the Academy of Pelvic Health as well as the Global Pelvic Health Alliance. Dr. Laura works full-time in the metro Atlanta area and also works with people around the world virtually through her website.
